Background information

Blind Tennis as it is internationally referred to originated in Japan and was invented as a rehabilitation therapy for people suffering from sight-loss.  Miyoshi Takei who founded the game dreamt of it one day being a paralympic sport.  This was the beginning of blind tennis in Japan

In August 2014, Ayako Mason visited the Cambridge group at Hills Road Tennis Centre and brought some of the original equipment for players to experience.

This year in 2017, we will be celebrating VI tennis (as it is normally referred to in the UK) 10th anniversary of being in the UK.  How appropriate it is that in this year VI tennis plays its first international game in Loughborough in April 2017.
