The Vision 4 Growth team produced a first class tournament, and made my job as referee on the two days very enjoyable.

Steve Pilcher – August 2018

According to our records we achieved our target number of players. For our 2018 tournament.  The Tournament Referee delivered over 70 games.. One B2 player commented

felt the level of B2 males who entered was very evenly classified and all n that group commented on how fairly it felt.

We  were Also pleased to have some international players attend  and share their experience with our UK players.

Year on year we have used  players feedback to make improvements to  our tournaments. Hosting a specific event for sight classification gave a majority result of ‘extremely effective’ in the feedback.

The overall rating for this tournament was excellent with 100% recommendation

The tactile lines used remained in place and were effective throughout the whole day.  Umpire chairs were equally appreciated by officials. After spending years searching Cambridgeshire for these chairs we were very grateful to the Hills Road staff for seeking them out for us.

The volunteers looked very visible with their green t-shirts on court and contrasted to the dark t-shirts of the Officials.   Their seemed a much more relaxed environment this year. Therefore, the same stricture will be used and recommendations put in place for next year

Lunches were provided by Subway Sandwiches from the Cambridge Leisure Park Snacks were kindly donated by Sainsbury’s and Co Op..  Tesco provided cups for hot drinks and Chiquitos provided a jug of strawberry cocktail for our evening meal.

The trophies designed by LJ Williams were admired by all players and we were delighted to have Mark Saunders from Cambridge LTA/Tennis 4 Cambridgeshire and  Mrs Dominie Walters, along with our Trustee Emma Meade to present the winners prizes

Our V I Tennis Cambridge Tournament report exploring all the activities around this event will be available shortly
