Spring has come to our 17th Century Disability Garden

This garden was designed by disabled people for disabled people. With wheelchair access and raised beds these gardens are enjoyed by hundreds of visitors to Cedars Park.  A recent survey identified 1 in 5 people in the UK have a disability or long term health condition. This equates to nearly 20%  of our population. However, as Speed  of Sound  recently discovered  70% of disabled people approached felt unhappy at the service they received through online shopping sites or retail outlets.

Clearly there is some way to go to improve facilities and customer service for.  Disabled people. This was one of the first projects in the area to accommodate and realise the needs of disabled visitors.  This has driven new initiatives around the park to consider more accessible areas such as smooth and wider pathways, signage and acceptance of people different needs.
