During 2013 Vision 4 Growth supported the development of an arts project aimed at engagement of blind and partially sighted people. This involved arranging group meetings to watch rehearsals of Bicycle Ballet and several shows in London.
Herne Hill Velodrome
Vision 4 Growth lead a group of blind and partially sighted people to attend a performance of Bicycle Ballet within the velodrome. With bikes whizzing around them the audience were encouraged to participate in this interactive show. Dame Tessa Jowel visited the site and met some of the riders. Wheels for well-being are now supporting this project allowing blind and partially sighted people to ride tandem and side by side bicycles, for more information contact (www.hernehill.org.uk/wheels-wellbeing)
Paralympic celebration in Olympic park
A year after the Olympics, Vision 4 Growth together with a group of blind and partially sighted people attended this event to watch Bicycle Ballet perform in front of Mayor Boris Johnson amongst many others. We enjoyed riding the simulated horse, used to teach disabled riders and much more.
